My Story:

Dodo Studios was born out of a deep desire to give a voice to those who often go unheard. Founded by Doron Perel, also known as DoDo, this creative journey is rooted in personal experiences of struggle, self-discovery, and a passion for authentic storytelling.

A Journey of Self-Expression:

Growing up, I was a shy individual with low confidence, often feeling like I didn’t have a voice in the world. My outlet, my escape, was through art specifically rap, spoken word, and poetry. These creative forms allowed me to express myself in ways I never could before, and through them, I found my voice. My art became my stage, a way to assert my existence in a world where I often felt invisible.

This personal journey of finding my voice has shaped the mission of Dodo Studios. I know what it’s like to feel overlooked, to struggle for a platform to express your true self. That’s why I’m passionate about helping others whether they are artists, small businesses, or simply individuals with compelling stories, find their voice and share their experiences with the world.

Giving Voice to the Unseen and Unheard:

Dodo Studios is committed to discovering and sharing the stories of those who often go unnoticed. I seek out the unseen and unheard people whose stories are rich in depth and emotion but are rarely given a platform. This includes not only artists and small businesses but also individuals from all walks of life: homeless individuals with incredible talents, distant tribes with unique cultural practices, and people whose voices are too often drowned out by the noise of mainstream media.

My work is about more than just making films it’s about creating a platform for authentic, impactful storytelling. Whether it’s a monk on a remote mountaintop or a musician living on the streets, I am driven by the desire to bring these stories to light and share them with the world.

A Legacy of Creativity:

Creativity runs deep in my family. On my father’s side, I come from the Paikin family, well-known musicians in South Africa. On my mother’s side, I was surrounded by art and music- my uncle was a talented violinist, my mother a skilled potter, and my grandmother an opera singer. This rich heritage of creativity has deeply influenced my work at Dodo Studios. I carry forward this legacy, blending it with my own artistic vision to create something truly unique.

The Call of Nature and the World:

Nature and travel are integral parts of my creative process. It is in nature that I find the freedom to create, to connect with the world on a deeper level, and to bring authenticity to my projects. The raw beauty of nature often serves as both a backdrop and an inspiration for the stories I tell, adding depth and resonance to each piece.

My work often takes me on journeys across the globe, seeking out stories in the most unexpected places. Whether it’s exploring the music of distant tribes in Africa, uncovering the hidden talents of street performers, or documenting the lives of monks in remote temples, Dodo Studios is about embarking on a storytelling journey that transcends borders and boundaries.

Dodo Studios is currently a one-man production company, where I personally oversee every aspect of the creative process. However, this is just the beginning.
